Rheumatologist

David Goddard, M.D., FA.C.P., F.R.C.P., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Goddard earned his medical degree from the University of London in England and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Royal London Hospital and fellowship in rheumatology at Westminister and Charing Cross Hospitals also in London. He also completed a research fellowship in the immunology of the rheumatic diseases at the Medical Research Council Bone and Joint Research Institute at the London Hospital Medical College, earning him a doctorate of medicine in the faculty of medicine of London University.

Formerly, Dr. Goddard was Director of the Rheumatic Diseases Research Laboratories at the Albert Einstein Medical Center of the Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia and Associate Director of the division of rheumatology at Winthrop University Medical Center on Long Island. Dr. Goddard is also formerly the Chief of the Division of Rheumatology of Long Island College Hospital and Professor of Clinical Medicine at SUNY- Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn. He is an attending physician at Long Island College and New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, New York. Dr. Goddard is also a clinical professor of medicine at the Weill College of medicine, Cornell University.

Dr. Goddard is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Rheumatology, as well as the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr. Goddard has a life long interest in both basic and clinical research and has served on the Veterans Affairs Program Review Division of the Medical Research Service. He has special interest in osteoporosis and is presently developing educational programs to increase awareness of this disease among physicians and patients. Dr. Goddard was also recently invited to serve as Co-Chairman of the Managed Care Committee of the New York State Rheumatology Society.
